Lola loves going to the theatre, we’ve been the Orchard a few times and although the shows will sometimes show as more suitable for 3 years and over Lola really does love it and will sit through shows! (Providing we have snacks!) The Tiger Who Came to Tea is a show based on the best selling novel by Judith Kerr.

Today we went along to see the show The Tiger Who Came to Tea. This could not have been at a better time! Lola absolutely loves Tigers and has a little figure of a tiger that she takes everywhere and shouts roar to everybody.

The Show

Well Lola was roaring as soon as we sat down and kept shouting TIIIIIIGGGER! The show starts by the cast walking down through the audience waving Hello before going down to stage to say a proper Hello! Throughout the show there is a lot of audience participation whether it be shouting “Tick Tock Tick Tock” or “Tiger” There are a number of songs that are sung two or three times and then the audience participate and encouraged to sing along.

The show is really easy to follow and it really doesn’t matter if you have read the book or not! We don’t actually own the book but I’m certainly going to get it now for Lola!

Would we see it again?

We would certainly love to see it again and I know Lola will enjoy it each time seeing it! She certainly can’t get enough of the Tiger!

I honestly recommend taking little ones along to the show! Especially if it is their first show, there is so much interaction and plenty of songs to sing along with that it will certainly keep their attention. As an added bonus the show is only 50 minutes!

There are still tickets available for the performances at The Orchard Theatre on the 22nd August and 23rd August! Or you can check where else it is on Tour
