Now that the first two posts have been about Babs and I, the next post has to be about our children! We currently have 2 children and expecting our 3rd baby in March.

Lola

Lola is our eldest, she was born in January 2016 so is just over 4.5. She recently started school and has so far completed a month of school! Thankfully she absolutely loves it and is really thriving there. We knew she was certainly more than ready to start and I think that lockdown proved that. Throughout lockdown Lola was craving to learn and desperate to be around her friends.

Lola is very much like me, she’s very sensitive but equally super independent. She adores animals especially horses and goats, at the moment she has these grand ideas of buying a horse for our extremely tiny back garden! Already she’s told me she’s going to do lemonade sales outside and any time family give her a couple of pound for a treat she puts it to one side for her horse!

Laide

Laide is our second daughter, born in May 2018 and nearly 2.5. She has just started Pre School after begging to go every time we dropped Lola off. So far she has completed 1 settling in session and 1 full morning session. Both times she has walked in barely looking back and without saying goodbye! She absolutely loves it and I honestly think that it is because she has been so desperate to start.

Laide certainly has what you call second child syndrone! She has no fear, so super cheeky and will always be up to some sort of mischief. Like Lola she is super independent and hates to have any help at all. Her speech is so clear and honestly she could speak for England! Laide is a huge dancer, as soon as she hears music she is immediately dancing. Her and Lola are so alike in so many ways but equally just so different.

With Lola we have rarely had to visit hospitals or doctors but with Laide we have had frequent visits. We realised when she was about 6 weeks old that she had CMPA (Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy) so meant that as I was breastfeeding I had to cut out all dairy. Thankfully she grew out of this and completed the milk ladder soon after her first birthday.

Back in December 2019 she also had to have surgery thanks to having Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. Her tonsils were huge and it causing so many issues with her sleeping, eating and breathing. She was only 19 months old at the time of surgery and usually surgeons won’t operate on under 3s for it. Due to her age we had to go to Evelina Children’s Hospital in London. She had to have her tonsils hugely shaved down and adenoids removed. Thankfully the surgery made such a huge difference and it became apparent very quickly what issues her tonsils had previously caused.

Baby Number 3

We are currently expecting baby number 3, due 15th March 2021. I’m nearly 17 weeks and have just over 3 weeks until my 20 week scan. We found out gender with both the girls and will certainly be finding out this time. I’ve had so many people saying to us that we must be desperate for a boy but in all honesty I really don’t mind. We have so many girls clothes that a girl would be easier in that sense. However, we would also love a boy and I know the girls are desperate for a boy!

  1. Wow, congratulations on the new addition in your family. I loved reading about you and your family.

  2. I can’t believe how grown up these two are, and very excited for the new addition, so lovely that they have both enjoyed starting school and preschool, the time really does go too quickly.
